The meeting opened at 7:02pm with members Dave Priddle, Derek Ten Broeck, and Lynne David present. Leigh Ann Colvin (Program Director and Facilities Mgr) was also in attendance.
The minutes from the April 5, 2010 meeting were accepted.
Members of the Pepperell Businessman’s Association attended the meeting to discuss the damage to the bandstand. They received a quote from KRM Construction for $3200-$3400 for repairs and to add metal railings. The association would like the Recreation Commission to donate half of this cost. The Rec. Commission voted to accept this proposal.
Bert Priddle attended the meeting to discuss the Summer Basketball League. He would like the Commission to donate $300 towards the program. It was voted on and approved. Dave Priddle abstained from this vote as Bert is his son.
Community Center
Leigh Ann let the Commission know that Ryan’s Hardwood Flooring Co. will be refinishing the floors at the center at no charge. Leigh Ann felt we should do a write up in the local paper about this donation.
Commission feels a new door lock is necessary. Leigh Ann would like to see a cover for the thermostat and the basement window fixed.
Summer Playground director Brendan McNabb attended the meeting to discuss playground. Brendan will check to see if all counselors will be returning. The commission hopes to be fully self sufficient financially for next fiscal year. The new cost for Summer Playground will be $150 per child with a $300 max family fee. It will be $40 for a weekly pass.
Lynne to be in charge of sending out employment letters.
